Amazon Rainforest - Yasuni National Park
Sani Lodge |
Challuacocha, is a black water oxbow lake, translated to "Small Mouth Lake" in Kichwa. Small Mouth refers to the abundant fish that live below the floating grasses and water hyacinths that cover most of the lake.
Challuacocha is an excellent habitat for endangered or threatened species like Black Caiman, Amazonian Manatee, Giant River Otter and a lung breathing fish called Paiche which grows to over 6 feet long !!!
One of the most amazing spots for bird watching is at our open-air bar. Relaxing at this rustic atmosphere is a really unique experience.
Here at Sani you will find too much to do !!!
There is always something to explore or something to learn. The possibilities are endless, but here are a few of our favorites.
